About Emily
Here & Now
My own journey to improving my mental health and well-being led me to seek out therapy. It has been life-changing for me. I find therapy to be a safe space where I can explore my feelings, my relationships, my past and the experiences that have brought me to where I am today.

“I wanted freedom from self-doubt and anxiety and in my journey, I discovered the power of therapy. I want to share that power with you”

about me
I am passionate about mental well-being and understanding what it means to be human. I completed a BSc in Psychology from Loughborough University before taking time to explore my interests in the great outdoors and sports. Through my time spent abroad, I discovered meditation. Studying Buddhism, Taoism and mindfulness practices has been integral to my personal development. While living in East Africa, I undertook a 200hr yoga teacher training with the Africa Yoga Project in 2014. Through my own experiences of meditation and psychotherapy, I was drawn to the Karuna Institute and began training with the school in 2021. I am currently undertaking a postgraduate diploma in core process psychotherapy. I hold trainee membership of the UKCP (UK Council of Psychotherapy) and ACPP (Association of Core Process Psychotherapists) and am working towards graduation and full accreditation.
From my early teens, I’ve been involved in the white water kayaking scene, as an athlete competing in freestyle and as an event organiser and coach. Being in nature is essential to me, and having retired from international-level competition, I now love trail running and spending long days in the mountains. After many years of living and working in Uganda, I now live on the outskirts of the Eryri (formally known as Snowdonia) National Park with my family.
